This fundraising event is specifically centered to help the orphans of the refugee camp, Al-Jalazun - Occupied West Bank in Palestine.
With your help, we are sponsoring 60 orphans in providing new clothes and toys for Eid this Ramadan.
A $50 donation will provide; (1) Eid outfit and (1) new toy.
Al-Jalazun Refugee Camp is located north of Ramallah. It was set up in 1949 as a temporary housing solution for Palestinians who became refugees during the 1948 NAKBA and were not allowed by Israel to return to their homes after the war ended. Residents of the camp originate from 36 Palestinian villages around Lod, Ramla, Haifa and west of Hebron.
Like the early refugee camps, al Jalazun/al-Jalazone was established by the Red Cross on private land after the forced exile of the Palestinians in the late 1940s. UNRWA assumed responsibility for the camp in 1950. Around 4,000–5,000 people took refuge in al-Jalazun and resided in olive and apricot orchards belonging to the village Jifna. They came from 46 depopulated villages and towns, mainly from the central coastal area: Lydda, Ramla, Haifa, and the area west of Hebron. She will be personally collecting the funds to send over to our brother, Abdullah. He will be purchasing the clothes and toys and distributing everything to the orphans on our behalf.
